The article will attempt to explain credit notes, their usage and creation in Logiware.
Note
A credit note refers to a financial document that is sent and issued by the seller to the buyer in that transaction for any reduction in the amount payable. This helps companies involved to maintain a proper trail of accounts, generating lesser invoicing errors.
Functional Flow
To add and update credit notes to any shipment, navigate to the Shipment and select Charges section.
Click on the dropdown icon and select Add Charge.
Fill-in appropriate details in the section to manually enter credit note as a (-) charge. For this, click on Edit.
Click on Save once done, followed by Save Charge to add this entry.
In this manner, credit notes can be added like charges.
Update this entry in the Invoice/ Bill which can be generated either manually or using Finalize, discussed in the Charges section.
