Adding a Pickup to a Route

In This Article

This article will explain how to add Pickup details to a Route.

Note

What is a Pickup?

For LCL (Less than container load) and Air shipments, some customers will want you to pickup the packages from their warehouse and deliver them to the CFS warehouse for consolidation into a container.

For FCL (Full container load) shipments, some customers will want you to pickup the empty container from the carrier, deliver it to their warehouse for loading, and then return the full container to the port for loading or rail ramp.

Navigation

Before you can add a Pickup in a quote or booking, you must first create a new quote or booking or edit an existing one. Once in a Quote or Booking, scroll down the page and locate the Route section (It will be near the top of the page and under the Shipment Type section).

Steps

Adding a Pickup Plan to a Route

  • To add a Pickup to the shipment route, click on the + icon on the far right of the Pickup Route section:

  • Plan # 1 will be added to the panel"

Note

Within the Pickup Route of a shipment Route, you can have as many Pickup Plans as needed. A Pickup Plan is a work order that you will send to a Trucker that provides the details they will need to pickup and deliver cargo and containers.

A pickup plan can have multiple pickup/loading locations, and in the case of FCL can have multiple empty container pickup locations as well, but pickups plans are limited to one trucker and one delivery location (which is the Place of Receipt).

  • To add an additional pickup/cargo loading location, click on the + icon again in the Pickup Route and a Plan # 2 will be added to the panel:

  • Each Pickup Plan can have multiple pickup/cargo loading locations. One location will appear by default.

Adding Pickup/Loading Location(s) to a Pickup Plan

  • To add a pickup/cargo loading location to a pickup plan, you must first select the country for the pickup.:

  • Next enter the Zip Code or the street address for the pickup location. Logiware uses the Google address database and contains zip codes and addresses across the globe.
  • You can add multiple Pickup locations by clicking on the + icon.
