Adding Packages to a Container

you will learn how to add Packages to a container (in an FCL, Full Container Load, Booking).

Setup
To add a Package to a container, you must first have a container in the Booking. (See Article: "Adding Containers to a Booking" for details.
Once in the FCL Booking, locate the Goods Section. IT will be just below the Parties section.
Steps
- Click on the Expand icon on the container row (in red below):
- The package section will appear below the container.
- Enter the Package details for the Container
- Package Type - Select the type of Package from the drop-down list.
- Package Qty - The quantity or number of packages.
- Net Weight - The weight of the goods/products without packaging (packing material, boxes, wrapping, pallet, etc.).
- Gross Weight - The weight of the goods/products with the packaging included (packing material, boxes, wrapping, pallet, etc.).
- Gross Volume - The volume of the goods/products with the packaging included (packing material, boxes, wrapping, pallet, etc.).
- Marks and Numbers - Enter any marks on the packages.
- Description of Goods - Enter text to describe the goods.
Hazardous - Check the box if the goods are hazardous.
- Add additional Package lines by clicking on the Add button.
- Delete Package lines by clicking on the Delete (Trash can) icon.
Note
As you add Package details, the fields listed below will total up to the Container level:
- Package Quantity
- Package Type
- Description of Goods
- Net Weight
- Gross Weight
- Total Volume
Adding Hazardous details
- To add Hazardous Details, click on the Hazardous checkbox and the Additional Fields Icon on the package row:
This will open the Additional Data panel with the Hazardous fields as shown below:
Adding Harmonized Commodity Codes
- Click on the Additional Fields icon on the package row to open the Additional Data panel
- You can add HS Codes or HTS Codes by entering the code or commodity description in the field. The system accesses the HS and HTS databases in real-time, so they are always up to date. Clcik on the Add button to add additional codes.
