Import/Manifest

This article provides the steps for creating a Manifest for a new shipment in the CFS portal.
Note
Manifest serves as a comprehensive record of the items included in a particular shipment and is used for various purposes throughout the logistics and transportation process.
Navigation
From the main menu, on the left-hand side, go to Imports > Manifest and click + New Shipment.
Steps
- Click on New Shipment.
- A new page will be displayed:
POL POD Details
POD (Port of Discharge) and POL ( Port of Loading).
POL is the port where products start their sea journey by being loaded, whereas POD is the destination port where goods are unloaded upon arrival, signaling the conclusion of the sea journey and the transfer of cargo to the local transportation network for further distribution.
Fields | Description |
POD (Port of Discharge) | Select the POD from the options in the drop-down menu. Note: As per the selection of POD Warehouse Name and Warehouse Address will be auto-populated. |
WAREHOUSE NAME | The warehouse name will be auto-populated. |
WAREHOUSE ADDRESS | The warehouse address will be auto-populated. |
SERVICE | Select the Service from the options in the drop-down menu. |
CUSTOMER | Select the Customer from the options in the drop-down menu. |
PAYMENT TYPE | Select the Payment type from the options in the drop-down menu.
Note: If the backend selects Prepaid, it restricts the user from choosing a payment option. |
CUSTOMER REFERENCE | Enter the Customer reference number. |
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED ON | Select the date the documents were received on from the calendar widget. |
Container Details
Container details are recorded in shipping documentation, including the bill of lading, carrier, and type of vessel. It contains the sail date, the estimated time of arrival, and other relevant information.

MBL (Master Bill of Lading) | Enter the Master bill of lading number |
MIB | Enter the MIB (Inbound) number |
CARRIER | Select the carrier from the options in the drop-down menu. |
VESSEL | Enter the type of vessel. |
VOYAGE | Enter the voyage |
PART OF LOADING | Select the port of loading from the options in the drop-down menu. |
COMMODITY | Enter the Commodity. |
SAIL DATE | Select the sail date from the calendar widget. |
ETA | Select the estimated time of arrival from the calendar widget. |
CONTAINER TYPE | Select the container type from the options in the drop-down menu. |
CONTAINER# | Enter the details of the container. |
ANY CONTAINER NUMBER FORMAT | Select the check the box if you need to choose a specific format for the container number. |
Discharge Details
Discharge details often refer to information about the unloading or discharge of cargo at its destination, such as a port of discharge. This information is often documented in the company's shipping and logistics records and may be transmitted to relevant parties, such as the consignee or recipient of the products.

TERMINAL | Select the terminal type from the options in the drop-down menu. |
TERMINAL APPOINTMENT DATE | Select the terminal appointment date from the calendar widget. |
LAST FREE DATE | Select the last free date from the calendar widget. |
PICKUP CARRIER | Select the pickup carrier from the options in the drop-down menu. |
DISPATCH DATE (FROM TERMINAL) | Select the dispatch date (from terminal) from the calendar widget. |
EXPECTED AT CFS | Select the expected at container freight station date from the calendar widget. |
CLEARED FROM CBP EXAM DATE | Select the cleared from CBP exam date from the calendar widget. |
CFS RECEIPT
CFS (Container Freight Station) A shipping dock where cargo is loaded (stuffed) into or unloaded (stripped) from containers. Generally, this involves less than container load shipments, although small shipments destined to same consignee are often consolidated. Container reloading from/to rail or motor carrier equipment is a typical activity. These facilities can be located in container yards, or off dock.

LOCATION AT CFS | Enter the location at CFS. |
MOVED TO DOOR DATE | Select the moved to door date from the calendar widget. |
DOOR | Enter the door number. |
TIR | Enter the TIR number. |
TIR DATE | Select the TIR date from the calendar widget. |
CHASSIS | Enter the Chassis number |
CHASSIS RENTAL DATE | Greyed out |
STRIP DATE | Greyed out |
STRIPPED BY | Enter the stripped by number |
AVAILABLE BY | Select the available date from the calendar widget. |
Notes
Notes play a crucial role in maintaining transparency, facilitating communication, and ensuring that all parties involved in the logistics process are well-informed about the status and details of shipments.
Fields | Description |
INTERNAL NOTES | Enter internal notes in the form of a message. |
EXTERNAL NOTES | Enter external notes in the form of a message. |
DISPATCH NOTES | Enter dispatch notes in the form of a message. |
DELIVERY NOTES | Enter delivery notes in the form of a message. |
Click on Save.
After successfully saving the details, the recently added import details can be viewed within Logiware.
Users have the option to view the status of their shipment, filter their preferences and Export their spreadsheet.
Status
According to the report, the user can generate a status. They have the option to select multiple files, apply filters as needed, and then click on export to have them all generated as spreadsheets.
Filter
Filter allows users to selectively display information that meets specific criteria. Filter can be done based on MBL, manifest number, container number, POD and so on.
Clicking on Status will bring the Status as well as Count of files in that status. Selecting a particular status will display all the files in that status.
Clicking on +MORE will bring list of fields by which user can search, and selecting a particular field will provide list of unique data in that field. e.g if User wants to search on Carrier, the data list will contain carriers that are being used in the files so far. If there are 40 carriers totally and the Manifest system used on 4 files so far, only those 4 Carriers will be listed.
User can keep adding as many fields as needed and conduct search in various ways without any proream change.
Export File
A file can be exported to an external file format. All the files generated can be created as spreadsheets.
