Creating Automations

This article will explain how to create, edit, and delete Automations.
Setup
Before you can use Automations, you must be subscribed to the Enterprise plan.

Automation is a no-code rule builder that enables users (with granted permissions), to build if-this-then-that-rules based on events in Logiware.

Navigation
Click on Appliction Switcher > Control Panel > Workflow Configuration > Booking Workflows
The Automations page will appear:
Steps
Creating a New Automation
- To create a new automation, click the New Automation button in the upper right corner of the page.
- The Automations > New Automation panel will appear:
- Enter Automation Name - a name for the automation.
- EnterAutomation Description -a brief description to explain objective and intended purpose of this automation.
- Press the Create button.
- The Automations > Blocks panel will appear
Selecting and Entering the Booking Trigger
- Click on the Booking Trigger box and with the left mouse button held-down, drag it onto the "+" Icon on the work canvas:
The Automations > Blocks > Booking Trigger panel will appear:
- Select the Trigger Event. Choices include the below options:
- Workflow Change - The automation will be triggered when a workflow change occurs.
- Field Change - The automation will be triggered when a field changes.
- Portal Create - The automation will trigger when a booking is created by the customer in the portal.
- Booking Close - The automation will trigger when a booking is closed.
- Booking Delete - The automation will trigger when a booking is deleted.
- Field Match - The automation will trigger when booking fields match selected values.
Based on the type of trigger selected, the panel will expand with additional fields to complete the setup of the trigger:
- Select the Trigger Event. Choices include the below options:
For example, the above trigger panel is for a Field Match trigger. Here you can fill in values for fields that need to match in a booking for the trigger to execute.
- Click the Save button once you have completed the Trigger form.
Setting up Automation Actions
- You can choose tthe following types of actions for automations:
- Email Notifications
- Create Tasks
- Finance Action - create charges and costs
- Banner Action - Display banners, warnings, alerts, and approvals in the booking.
- To setup the Actions for the Automation, select the desired Action and drag it onto the canvas area and place it on the Plus Icon after the trigger.
- Then click on the Action to open the configuration panel. The panel will vary depending on the type of action selected:
The panel shown above is the Action Panel to automatically create a Task.
Viewing the Automation Tile
- When you have completed setting up the automation, a tile will be added to the Automation page as shown below:

Editing an Automation
- To Edit and automation, click on the More Options icon of the automation tile:
- A menu will appear. Click on the Edit option:
- The automation Block panel will open:
- Hold your mouse over any of the blocks to view the Edit and Delete icons for that block:
Deleting an Automation
- To Delete and automation, click on the More Options icon in the automation tile:
- A menu will appear. Click on the Delete option:
A message will appear "The automation has been successfully deleted".
Viewing the Automation Summary
- To view the Summary of activity for the automation, click on the More options Icon in the automation tile.
- A menu will appear. Click on the Summary option:
- A slide-out drawer will open and show a summary of the automation:
- The top section will show the user that created the automation, date created, and current status:
- You can add Notes to the automation.
- Enter Notes at the bottom (highlighted in red) and they will display in the middle section (highlighted in blue):
- A History log of changes to the automation will be displayed in the bottom area:
- A Runs log can be displayed by clicking on the Runs tab:
